Montville Township consists of  19.1 picturesque square miles and is divided into three areas: Towaco, Montville and Pine Brook. It has a  rich historic heritage and has retained much of its rural atmsophere.  Originally settled by the Dutch who were attracted to the area by deep fertile soil, ample water and proximity to other centers.  Portions of the Morris Canal are still visible.  Montville was one of the major military routes of George Washington.  Washington stayed in Montville in June 1780.

Montville Township offers a wonderful recreational department,  public tennis courts, its own library, Community park and transportation by bus or rail to NYC.
